NATURAL MEN’S HEALTH: SNORING - TREATMENT & PREVENTION PROGRAM

Snoring can have a devastating effect on relationships and the harmony of family life. It should be taken seriously, especially because lack of sleep can cause other major dysfunctions of your system.

Consult a specialist to establish whether sinus passageways are blocked by adenoids or swollen tonsils. Perhaps it is a case of snaring being caused by allergens and seasonal irritants.

These days surgeons are more reluctant to remove adenoids or tonsus than they were some decades ago. However, if these glands are enlarged, it may be the best option. I have seen some patients wn0 have had surgery to remove the offending organs improve their vitality and quality of life enormously.

Treatment & prevention program

If removal of the glands is not an option for you, then there are some naturopathic approaches that can work well.

Take vitamin C with bioflavonoids regularly. Ensure you have at least 2000 to 3000 mg per day with equal parts vitamin C and bioflavonoids.

Take two tablets of garlic and horseradish, twice daily after food.

Sleep with two pillows under your head.

Always sleep on your side, not on your back.

Cut out red and white wine in the evenings as far as possible as the histamine effect of the wine can interfere with breathing passageways.

Use a light nasal spray containing eucalyptus and peppermint oil before bed.

It's also a good idea to have your iron levels checked via a blood test. Many men are eating less red meat these days, but this can result in low iron levels, especially if you also play sport. If your iron levels are low, a supplement needs to be taken to increase the transport of oxygen around the body and to help remove carbon monoxide from the blood.
